SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On August 27, 2022, at approximately 0510 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police – Rutland Barracks were notified of a motor vehicle crash on US RT 7, at the intersection of US RT 4, in Rutland Town, Vermont.

Through investigation it was determined Operator #1 (Norton), was operating vehicle #1 traveling east on US RT 4 with the intention of turning north onto US RT 7. Operator #2 (Lafayette) was operating vehicle #2, traveling south on US RT 7. US RT 7 had yellow flashing lights, while US RT 4 had flashing red lights. Operator #1 (Norton) entered the intersection when it was not safe to do so. Vehicle #1 struck the rear right of vehicle #2.

The Vermont State Police were assisted on scene by Rutland Town Fire Department.
