SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On the morning of 12-25-21, Troopers from the Shaftsbury barracks responded to a report of a one vehicle roll over crash on Vermont Route 9 in the town of Searsburg, VT. Upon arrival, Troopers located a Lexus SUV at a position of uncontrolled rest on its passenger side. Troopers made contact with the operator who was identified as Liang (27). Investigation revealed that Liang was traveling west on Vermont Route 9 at approximately 40 miles per hour while traveling downhill. Liang reported she applied the brakes and in doing so began to lose control of her vehicle due to ice/slush on the road surface. Liang’s vehicle continued off the north shoulder of the roadway into a ditch where the vehicle began to roll and strike a utility pole just off the roadway. Liang and her passenger were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and reported minor injuries.

Troopers were assisted on scene by members of the Wilmington Fire Department, Deerfield Valley Rescue, Vermont Agency of Transportation and Green Mountain Power.
