Should I Should Seek Medical Attention Right After Suffering a Personal Injury in a Car Accident?

by | Sep 28, 2020 | Firm News

Many times I am called by someone injured in a motor vehicle accident and they ask if they should seek medical attention right away after suffering a personal injury in a car accident. I have resolved numerous cases with fruitful settlements on cases in which our clients waited far longer than several and sometimes many days to commence treatment. In an ideal world every auto accident victim would commence treatment immediately. Yet, this is not the case more often than not. Many individuals will wait an extended period of time to see if their pain or discomfort will subside as opposed to running to a physician as a knee jerk reaction. There is no reason for such individuals to be punished for waiting to see whether the pain and discomfort would resolve on its own.

In general you should consult with you primary care doctor if you have any questions at all regarding whether to seek treatment for your injuries. It is better to error on the side of caution and at least call your doctor.
