On 6/26/2020 at approximately 1418 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to Main Street for a report of an assault. While responding officers received a detailed description of the suspect who fled on foot.
Officers met the with the male victim who stated that he was assaulted and that his glasses were broken. Evidence at the scene confirmed the victims statements. The incident occurred in a busy public place with a high volume of pedestrian and motor vehicle traffic. The victim sustained minor non-life threatening injuries.
Officers located the suspect nearby and identified him as Justin E. Clough. Clough was still displaying aggressive behavior in public. While investigating this incident it was discovered that Clough had recently entered a business on High Street that he was previously trespassed from.
Clough was placed under arrest and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was fingerprinted, photographed, temporarily lodged, issued a citation and conditions and released. He is scheduled to appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on June 29, 2020 to face the charges.
Driving with Criminally Suspended License
Gerald Sargent, 34, of Brattleboro, VT
On June 19 2020 at approximately 0020 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department were on patrol on Putney Road and observed a vehicle operating without its lights activated. Officers stopped the vehicle, and subsequent investigation revealed that the operator, Gerald C. Sargent, had a criminally suspended license.
Sargent was arrested and later released with a citation for Driving with License Suspended Criminally, and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham County Criminal Division on August 11 to face the charge.
Christopher Rigali, 41, of Brattleboro, VT
On June 18 2020 at approximately 2220 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on Canal Street for a trespassing complaint. Subsequent investigation showed that Christopher Rigali was present at the business in spite of an active No Trespass Order.
Rigali was issued a citation for Unlawful Trespass and released. Rigali is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham County Criminal Division on August 11 to face the charge.
Violation of Conditions of Release
Dominic Graves, 28, of Brattleboro, VT
On June 23, 2020 at approximately 1957 hours, officers of the Brattleboro Police Department were on patrol on Putney Road when they observed two individuals that they believed to have court ordered conditions not be near each other.
Subsequent investigation revealed that Dominic J. Graves violated his court ordered conditions of release in that he had contact with a female that he was not allowed to.
Graves was placed under arrest and was transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was processed, temporarily lodged, issued a citation and conditions and released. Graves was ordered to appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on 6/24/20 to answer to the charge.
Domestic Assault, Abuse of a Vulnerable Adult
William Therieau, 31, of Brattleboro, VT
On 6/22/20 Brattleboro Police responded to a residence on Maple St. for a report of a household member threatening serious violence and arson.
Upon arrival, Police made contact with the residents, and spoke with them about their family member; William J. Therieau, a 31 year old male from Brattleboro.
Investigation revealed that Therieau, over the past several months, had physically abused, and put in fear for their safety, his elderly family members.
Therieau was taken into custody, and lodged at the Brattleboro Police Department. There he was processed, issued conditions of release, and held on bail.
Therieau will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 6/23/20 to answer his charges.
Chad Dustin, 46, of Chesterfield, NH
On 6/21/20 at approximately 1214 PM Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to the area of Putney Rd for a report of a male subject who had just left a local store with a shopping cart full of merchandise that had not been paid for. The male subject left the shopping cart and contents and fled down Putney Rd.
Store security reported the contents of the shopping cart totaled approximately $200 and were all recovered at the scene.
An officer was able to locate the subject down the road from the store and he was identified as Chad E. Dustin 46 of Chesterfield NH. Dustin was issued a trespass warning for the business and released on citation to appear at the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division on 8/11/20 at 0800 hours
Christopher Rigali, 40, of Massachusetts
Upon arrival investigation revealed that Christopher Rigali, a 40 year old male from Massachusetts, was on a property that he had been previously trespassed from. Rigali had been previously trespassed from the property due to damaging items inside of the property.
Rigali was placed under arrest, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There he was processed, and released on a citation for Unlawful Trespass. Rigali will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 8/11/20 to answer his charge.
Disorderly conduct, Unlawful trespass
Christopher Rigali, 40, of Brattleboro, VT
On 6/19/20 at approximately 1009 PM Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a local bank for a report of a disorderly male subject. Prior to arrival On scene the male subject left on foot.
While investigating the incident the Brattleboro police dispatch received another complaint of a disorderly male at a nearby business. The male matched the description of the male from the bank. A third report of the same male acting disorderly was received by dispatch from another location. The third location, a local hotel, identified the male as Christopher Rigali, 40 of Brattleboro, whom they had recently trespassed from their property. Dispatch confirmed Rigali had been previously trespassed from the Hotel.
Rigali was later located walking on Putney Rd in Brattleboro. He was arrested and transported to the Brattleboro Police station where he was processed for the offenses. Rigali was issued additional trespass warnings and released on a citation to appear at the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division on 8/11/20.
Possession of a narcotic, possession of a weapon while committing a crime
Justin Grover, 40, of Brattleboro, VT
On 6/18/2020 at approximately 0105 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to the parking lot of a business on Canal Street for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers approached the subject in the vehicle and identified him as Justin M. Grover. Further investigation revealed that Grover was in possession of Fentanyl, a semi-automatic firearm, a large capacity magazine, and ammunition. These items were seized, and Grover was issued a citation for possession of a narcotic and possession of a weapon while committing a crime, and released. Grover is scheduled to appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on August 11, 2020 to face the charges.
Justin Perdue, 28, of Brattleboro, VT
On June 13, 2020 at approximately 1300 hours Officers from the Brattleboro Police Department were dispatched to a business on Canal St. for a theft. Subsequent investigation found that Justin J. Perdue, age 28 from Brattleboro had stolen a wallet. Perdue was arrested for two counts of Petit Larceny, Trespassing and two counts of attempted Larceny. Perdue is scheduled to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on August 11, 2020 at 0800 hours to answer to his charges.
