SUMMARY OF CRASH: On May 10, 2020, at approximately 0122 hours, Troopers were dispatched to a Tractor Trailer crash on Vermont Route 22A in the Town of Benson (VT). Upon arrival of Troopers the tractor trailer was fully engulfed.
During the course of the investigation, the operator of the Tractor Trailer was found deceased inside the cab of the tractor. The deceased was sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and was identified as Dennis A. Stissi, age 50 of Schenectady, New York.
The Vermont State Police is currently investigating this crash and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Trooper Ducharme at (802)773-9101. The Vermont State Police were assisted by the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles Inspection Division, Benson Fire Department, Benson Rescue Department, Orwell Fire Department, Fair Haven Fire Department, Granville Fire Department, and Earles Truck repair.
